Francois Bourienne, Glasgow Airport Commercial Director, celebrates the launch of services to Chania alongside two Ryanair crew members. Flights will operate each Wednesday using 737-800s.
- Ryanair celebrated the launch of services from Glasgow (GLA) to Chania (CHQ) on 1 June. The 3,124-Kilometre sector will operate weekly on Wednesdays using 737-800s, and faces no direct competition. Commenting at the launch, Francois Bourienne, Glasgow Airport’s Commercial Director, said: “Chania is a fantastic new addition to the wide range of European cities Ryanair serves from Glasgow, and we are excited to be bringing this brand new route to our customers. We look forward to working closely with the Ryanair team, to ensure the success of this fantastic new destination.” This latest route launch by Ryanair now means they serve nine destinations from their Glasgow base this summer, with a tenth, Berlin, starting in late October. In addition, Ryanair also operates to 15 destinations from its Glasgow Prestwick base.
