Cutting the cake in Malta. Flights between the Mediterranean island and the Greek capital will operate thrice-weekly using Q400s, facing direct competition from Air Malta, who operate twice-weekly. Attending the launch ceremony along with the crew are: Dr. Gavin Gulia, Chairman, Malta Tourism Authority (MTA); Paul Bugeja, CEO, MTA; Alan Borg, CEO, Malta Airport; and Panos Nicolaidis, Ground Operations Director, Aegean Airlines.
- Aegean Airlines launched four new routes from Athens (ATH) between 2 and 6 June. Of the new routes, those to Malta (MLA) and Toulouse (TLS) face direct competition. One of the new airport pairs marks the latest domestic route for the Star Alliance member from the Greek capital, this time to Preveza (PVK). The 298-kilometre sector will operate thrice-weekly, using the airline’s Q400s. The rest of the latest services operate either twice or thrice-weekly.
