Flybe launches four more routes from Cardiff

Brendan Sullivan and Courtney Byrne, of The Loop Airport Shopping, Cork Airport, and Padraig McCarthy, Airport Duty Manager, present a Loop Hamper to the inaugural crew as they arrive from the Welsh capital. Flights will operate weekly on Saturdays using the airline’s E195s.

  • Flybe launched a further four routes from its new Cardiff (CWL) base this week, starting with flights to Glasgow (GLA) and Milan Malpensa (MXP) on 2 June. These routes were then followed by services to Faro (FAO) on 4 June and Cork (ORK) on 6 June. All airport pairs will be operated using the airline’s E195s, with only services to Faro facing direct competition in the form of Thomson Airways, who operate weekly. The latest routes follow on from the launch of Flybe’s Cardiff base on 1 June. A final service will be introduced from the Welsh capital to Munich, starting 31 August.
