On 2 July Orlando Sanford Airport welcomed the first passengers on the new weekly service from Paramaribo via Georgetown with Surinam Airways. The route is flown on the airline’s 737-300s.
- Surinam Airways has expanded its operations in the US with the introduction of a new weekly service from Paramaribo (PBM) to Orlando Sanford (SFB) in Florida via Georgetown (GEO) in Guyana. Flights to the US operate on Thursdays, while the return flights operate on Fridays. The airline will use 126-seat 737-300s on the routes, neither of which face any competition. The service, which launched 2 July, operates until 25 September. Surinam Airways already operates non-stop flights from both Aruba and Georgetown to Miami in Florida.
