Arkia adds seasonal Georgian route to network

Look at the blackberries on that! Mert Kandiyeli, Batumi Airport’s Manager TAV Georgia welcomes a representative of the inaugural Arkia crew to Georgia with this fine fresh fruit-encrusted cake.

  • Arkia started weekly (Wednesdays) operations from Tel Aviv (TLV) to Batumi (BUS) in Georgia on 1 July. The seasonal service runs until 7 October. Passengers were welcomed with a cocktail in the terminal, where the executives of TAV Georgia (Batumi Airport operator) and the airline celebrated the first E190-operated flight. The passengers were also treated to a fresh fruit-encrusted cake. The 1,221-kilometre sector joins Arkia’s existing Georgian services – a twice-weekly link between Tel Aviv and Tbilisi. Georgian Airways will provide weekly competition on the city pair.
