You wait ages for your first international service, and then two turn up in a week. Having welcomed flydubai’s new connection from Dubai last week, Faisalabad celebrated the start of thrice-weekly operations from Doha with Qatar Airways this week.
- Qatar Airways became Faisalabad’s (LYP) second international service in the space of a week, following the start of flydubai’s service to Dubai last week. Operated on a thrice-weekly basis from the oneworld carrier’s Doha (DOH) hub, the service commenced on 17 July. The day before, the MEB3 carrier launched a four times weekly service to Sialkot (SKT), also in Pakistan. Both sectors are flown by the airline’s 144-seat A320 fleet, and neither will face any direct competition. The two new routes join the carrier’s existing four routes to Pakistan – namely to Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar. See how Faisalabad Airport’s FTWA compares to others from around the world.
