Thomas Cook Airlines London Stansted to Cancun
On 18 July, Thomas Cook Airlines launched services from London Stansted to Cancún. For the occasion, the airport produced this superb cake in recognition of the new weekly service.
Balloons, a three-tier celebration cake and Disney singers with children’s gift bags delighted passengers from check-in through to the departure gate, creating an amazing buzz to bring the best of Orlando to London Stansted Airport. Director of Aviation at Thomas Cook Airlines, James Burrows, and Stansted Airport MD, Andrew Harrison were on hand to cut the cake.
Finally on 20 July, the third and final route of the North American trio was launched – can you guess where? A weekly service to Las Vegas of course.
- Thomas Cook Airlines started three seasonal services from London Stansted (STN) to North America this week. On 17 July it began twice-weekly operations (Fridays and Sundays) to Orlando (MCO), on 18 July weekly services (Saturdays) to Cancún (CUN), and finally on 20 July weekly (Mondays) services to Las Vegas (LAS). All services, which will operate in just July and August, are flown by the airline’s 321-seat, A330-200s and none of the routes face any direct competition. Andrew Harrison, London Stansted’s MD said: “We are delighted to welcome the return of long-haul services to Stansted this weekend as Thomas Cook launch flights to the USA and Mexico. These flights to Orlando, Las Vegas and Cancún will be a fantastic addition to our destinations board and the first of what will be a growing long-haul offer from Stansted in the coming years.” Christoph Debus, CEO of Thomas Cook Airlines, said: “This weekend is huge for us as we deliver on our promise to provide great quality flights at superb prices to iconic US destinations. We’re also doubling our departures to Orlando next summer to four times a week, making Stansted a great partner for us to offer the best experience to our customers.”
