Turkish Airlines now offers 18 weekly flights to Erbil from its two Istanbul hubs following the introduction of a four times weekly service from Sabiha Gökçen on 20 July.
- Turkish Airlines added to its existing double-daily Erbil (EBL) operations from Istanbul Atatürk on 20 July with a four times weekly service from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (SAW). The 737-800-operated service will face no direct competition on the 1,371-kilometre airport pair. From 18 September the route will be increased to a daily rotation. Turkish Airlines now serves well over 40 destinations non-stop from its second Istanbul hub and has increased the number of flights from the airport by over 30% in the last 12 months, providing ever-growing competition to the airport’s main carrier Pegasus Airlines.
