China Eastern Airlines now serves two airports in Lao

  • China Eastern Airlines has added a second destination in Lao to its international network. On 29 July the SkyTeam alliance member began thrice-weekly flights from Kunming (KMG) to Luang Prabang (LPQ) via Jinghong (JHG). The 272-kilometre sector between Jinghong and Luang Prabang is already served by Lao Airlines with twice-weekly flights. China Eastern will operate the route using its 737-700s and becomes the first Chinese carrier to serve the airport. China Eastern already serves Vientiane in Lao from Kunming (five times weekly) and Nanning (twice-weekly).
