Emirates makes Multan its sixth Pakistani network point

Emirates Pakistan

The VIP delegation for the inaugural Emirates flight from Dubai to Multan, the airline’s sixth destination in Pakistan, ready themselves for departure. The four times weekly service starts in the same week that Qatar Airways launches its own services to the city from Doha.

  • Emirates added its sixth destination in Pakistan on 1 August, with the start of a four times weekly services to Multan (MUX) from its global hub in Dubai (DXB). Of the three airlines lining up to fight over the traffic, the most prominent is sister LCC flydubai (flying eight times weekly), along with Pakistan International Airlines (twice-weekly) and Shaheen Air International (twice-weekly). The 1,670-kilometre sector will be flown by the airline’s 777-300 equipment, perhaps due in part by the recent retirement of its last 777-200. It is interesting to note that fellow MEB3 carrier Qatar Airways also started its own Multan operations this week.
