Myanmar National Airlines Yangon to Singapore
The launch on 17 August of Myanmar National Airlines’ first international service to Singapore was a big event at Yangon Airport with speeches, a gift exchange and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
There were also celebrations at Singapore Changi Airport, including a cake and another ribbon-cutting ceremony, for the arrival of a new carrier.
- Myanmar National Airlines (which formerly operated under the name Myanma Airways) on 17 August launched its first international service from Yangon (RGN) to Singapore (SIN). The 1,930-kilometre route will be operated six times weekly by the carrier’s recently acquired, factory-fresh 737-800. Competition is pretty intense as the route is already flown by Jetstar Asia (10 times weekly), Myanmar Airways International (daily), SilkAir (daily), Singapore Airlines (daily) and Tigerair Singapore (daily).
