V Air Taipei to Busan

V Air Busan

On 15 August V Air began twice-weekly flights between Taipei and Busan in South Korea. Competition comes from Air Busan, China Airlines and Jeju Airlines. The mascot incidentally is called V Air Bear.

  • V Air, the LCC launched by TransAsia Airways last December, on 15 August began flying twice-weekly (Mondays and Fridays) between Taipei Taoyuan (TPE) and Busan (PUS) in South Korea. The 1,344-kilometre route will be flown by the airline’s A321s and faces direct competition from Air Busan and Jeju Airlines (both operating daily flights) and China Airlines (six weekly flights). V Air’s CEO, Ms Eleni Lung, said: “V Air is the first Taiwan low-fare carrier stepping into Korean market. Especially, Busan is our first destination in North East Asia. We are very optimistic about the new service, and aim to increase the flight frequency in order to offer passengers a larger flexibility for travel arrangement.” V Air’s only other routes at present are to Bangkok and Chiang Mai in Thailand.
