GX Airlines celebrated the launch of its new daily service between Nanning, Nanyang and Tianjin airports on 21 August. The new services will be operated by the airline’s fleet of Embraer E190s.
- GX Airlines (also known as Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines) has expanded its Chinese domestic network. The carrier, which launched operations in February 2015, is a joint venture between Hainan Airlines Group’s Tianjin Airlines and Beibu Gulf Investment Group, and operates a small fleet of Embraer E190s. On 21 August the carrier started daily flights between Nanning (NNG) and Nanyang (NNY) with onward, same aircraft service to Tianjin (TSN). None of these sectors are currently flown by any other carriers. GX Airlines is based at Nanning from where it serves over a dozen domestic destinations. In 2014 Nanning Wuxu International Airport handled 9.41 million passengers (up 15.4% on 2013) making it the 25th busiest airport in China.
