Services from Sao Paulo Guarulhos will operate thrice-weekly using the oneworld member’s 767-300s.
- TAM Airlines launched services between Sao Paulo Guarulhos (GRU) and Barcelona (BCN) on 1 October. Flights depart from the Brazilian city at 23:55 according to OAG Schedules Analyser, with flights arriving into Barcelona at 14:35 the following day. Services on the 8,756-kilometre sector will operate thrice-weekly and face direct competition from Singapore Airlines, which links Singapore with Sao Paulo via the Catalan capital. Rodrigo Contreras, Head of LATAM Airlines Group in Europe, said of the launch: “We are very proud to see that Barcelona, thanks to this new route, will participate directly in the opportunity of helping connect South America to Europe.” Barcelona becomes TAM’s sixth European city to be served non-stop from Sao Paulo, joining Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Milan and Paris.
