Iraqi Airways added two more capital cities to its network this week, beginning services to Baku (GYD) and Yerevan (EVN). The 953-kilometre sector to the capital of Azerbaijan commenced on 13 October and will be operated weekly (Tuesdays). The 764-kilometre route to the capital of Armenia began on 15 October and will also be operated weekly (Thursdays). Both routes face no direct competition and the city pairs will be flown by the airline’s 737 fleet.
