The launch of services to Hiroshima was the perfect time for HK Express to showcase its new purple and silver cabin uniforms. Hiroshima becomes the airline’s sixth destination in Japan. It will face direct competition on the route from Dragonair. Both carriers will serve the route twice-weekly.
- HK Express on 27 October launched flights to its sixth destination in Japan. Hiroshima (HIJ) will be served twice-weekly (Tuesdays and Saturdays) using the airline’s growing fleet of A320s. The 2,290-kilometre route from the airline’s base in Hong Kong (HKG) is already served by Dragonair with twice-weekly flights, also flown by A320s. HK Express already serves Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo (Haneda and Narita) with non-stop flights from Hong Kong. Sherman Luk, General Manager Asia Pacific, HK Express, said: “We are delighted to be the only low-fare airline serving this essential Japanese destination. Hiroshima is a beautiful city with loads of history, and we are confident that it will quickly become one of our top routes.”
