Receiving a water arch salute from Alicante Airport’s fire department is Vueling’s inaugural flight to Santiago de Compostela. The 827-kilometre route will face direct competition from Ryanair.
- Vueling commenced services on two new routes during the course of last week. The first route launch on 27 October was on the Spanish domestic link between Alicante (ALC) and Santiago de Compostela (SCQ). The second route to commence operations (on 31 October) was between Rome Fiumicino (FCO) and Lanzarote (ACE). Services on the 837-kilometre Spanish domestic link will operate twice-weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays according to OAG Schedules Analyser data, while the connection between Italy’s capital and Lanzarote will operate weekly on Saturdays. While the latter route will not face direct competition, services between Alicante and Santiago de Compostela will compete with Ryanair, which operates four weekly flights. Vote for Alicante Airport’s fire truck water arch.
