Allegiant Air – new routes is its deal

Allegiant Air Kansas City to Orlando Sanford, Punta Gorda and St. Pete-Clearwater

Not one cake but two, for three new routes! Kansas City definitely ‘went large’ this week as it celebrated its three new Allegiant Air routes to Punta Gorda, Orlando Sanford and St.Pete-Clearwater. On board the first flight was a very happy Justin Meyer, Kansas City Airport Deputy Director of Aviation – Marketing and Air Service Development – or the man that brought Allegiant to Kansas!!

  • Allegiant Air, the US ULCC, has used the last week to commence four new routes from three of its bases – all of them in Florida. The average sector length of these routes is 1,703 kilometres (down slightly from last week’s average of 1,723 kilometres) – with the longest route being the 1,809-kilometre Punta Gorda (PGD) to Kansas City (MCI) airport pair (last week it was the 2,057-kilometre Orlando Sanford to Grand Island route), while the shortest is the 1,625-kilometre link from Orlando Sanford (SFB) to Rochester (ROC) in New York state (last week it was the 1,555-kilometre service from Punta Gorda to Akron/Canton). Unsurprisingly, all four of the new city pairs are unserved by any other airline.
