- Jetstar Japan has entered one of the most competitive aviation markets in the world by launching service from Tokyo Narita (NRT) to Taipei Taoyuan (TPE). The LCC will initially operate thrice-weekly A320 flights on the 2,181-kilometre route before increasing frequency to daily from 23 December. The route is already served by Vanilla Air (four daily flights), China Airlines (thrice-daily flights), EVA Air, Japan Airlines and TransAsia Airways (each with double-daily flights), as well as All Nippon Airways, Scoot and Tigerair Taiwan, each operating daily flights. Taipei becomes only the second international destination for Jetstar Japan after Hong Kong, which it serves from Tokyo Narita and Osaka Kansai. In mid-December Jetstar Japan will also start serving Taipei from Osaka Kansai and Nagoya Chubu. In total the LCC will operate a total of 22 routes this winter using a fleet of 20 180-seat A320s. According to planespotters.net, no aircraft have joined the fleet in 2015.
