WestJet on 30 November commenced services between Calgary (YYC) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) in Florida. The 3,986-kilometre link will operate twice-weekly on Mondays and Fridays according to OAG Schedules Analyser data, facing no direct competition. All flights are currently scheduled to be operated by the airline’s fleet of 737-700s. Calgary becomes the seventh Canadian airport to be served from Fort Lauderdale, joining year-round services to Montreal and Toronto Pearson, as well as seasonal routes to Halifax, Ottawa, Quebec City and Winnipeg.
