Copa Airlines commits to Belize City

Welcome to Belize City Copa Airlines. The inaugural event being held at Belize City Airport included a ribbon cutting ceremony and speeches from: Karen Pike, Director of Marketing & Industry Relations, Belize Tourism Board; Adolfo Sen, Director of Sales, Copa Airlines; and Manuel Heredia Jr., Senior Cabinet member and Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture, Belize. Flights from Panama City will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays and be flown by the carrier’s E190s.

  • Copa Airlines on 8 December commenced services between Panama City (PTY) and Belize City (BZE). The 1,345-kilometre sector will be flown twice-weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays according to OAG Schedules Analyser, with the Star Alliance member utilising its 94-seat E190s on the city pair. The route will face no incumbent airlines. Commenting on the launch at the inaugural ceremony, Manuel Heredia Jr., Senior Cabinet member and Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture, Belize, stated: “Though our strongest market remains North America, we see the need to expand our reach southward, as a part of the long term strategy towards diversification, as charted in our National Sustainable Tourism Master Plan. As a result, Copa Airlines and Belize have partnered together and have committed to investing the essential time and resources needed to develop an invaluable relationship, which will serve as the catalyst for attracting South American tourists to Belize, and in turn result in the expansion of Belize’s tourism industry.” See how this airport’s FTWA competes against others from around the world.
