SpiceJet starts second Bangkok route

- SpiceJet has expanded its international operations with the launch on 10 December of a new six times weekly service between Chennai (MAA) and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK). The 2,224-kilometre route will be flown by the airline’s 737-800s. Competition comes in the shape of Thai Airways which currently operates a daily service between the two airports. SpiceJet already serves Bangkok’s main airport with a daily service from Kolkata. Apart from Bangkok the LCC’s other destinations outside of India this winter are Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dubai (UAE), Kabul (Afghanistan), Malé (Maldives) and Muscat (Oman).
