- Myanmar Airways International has expanded its network in China. On 25 December the carrier, which operates a fleet of just five A320-series aircraft, began flying from Yangon (RGN) and Mandalay (MDL) in Myanmar to Kunming (KMG) in China. The thrice-weekly A320 service operates Yangon-Mandalay-Kunming and then back again. The 781-kilometre Mandalay-Kunming sector is already flown eight times weekly by China Eastern Airlines, while the Yangon-Kunming link is already operated non-stop by Air China (daily flights) and China Eastern Airlines (six weekly flights). Among the international destinations already served by Myanmar Airways International are Bangkok (Thailand), Gaya (India), Guangzhou (China), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Singapore.
