Okay Airways starts second Japanese route
- Okay Airways has started its second scheduled service to Japan with the launch on 15 January of weekly (Friday) flights from Tianjin (TSN) to Osaka Kansai (KIX). The 1,674-kilometre route will be operated by the airline’s 737-800s, with the frequency set to increase to twice-weekly from the end of the month with the addition of a Tuesday service. Competition is provided by Tianjin Airlines (daily flights) and Spring Airlines (four weekly flights). Okay Airways now operates a total of 12 international routes of which five are from Tianjin. The other international routes from Tianjin are to Bangkok and Krabi in Thailand, Jeju in South Korea and Tokyo Haneda in Japan, which itself only launched on the penultimate day of 2015.
