At the press conference to elaborate on Aeromexico’s new four times weekly service from Mexico City to Santo Domingo were: Radhamés Martínez Aponte, Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic; Fernando Pérez Memén, Dominican Republic Ambassador to Mexico; Jorge Goytortua, Sales Director Aeromexico; Carlos Tirado Zavala, Mexican Ambassador to the Dominican Republic; and Mónika Infante Henriquez, Aerodom CEO. This is the first ever scheduled service between the two countries. Santo Domingo also celebrated the start of services with a very impressive cake.
- Aeromexico on 16 March began flying to Santo Domingo (SDQ) in the Dominican Republic for the first time. The 3,088-kilometre route from Mexico City (MEX) will be flown four times weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) by 99-seat E190s operated by Aeromexico Connect. No other carrier operates the route and it is the first ever scheduled service between Mexico and the Dominican Republic. This summer the SkyTeam carrier will serve 80 destinations non-stop from Mexico City (up from 76 last summer), of which 37 are outside of Mexico. See how Santo Domingo Airport’s FTWA compares to others from around the world.
