Eastar Jet started not one but two new routes on Monday 28 March, between Seoul Incheon and Taipei Taoyuan, and between Cheongju and Ningbo.
- Eastar Jet used the start of the summer season to launch not one but two new routes. On 28 March it began four times weekly flights on the 1,463-kilometre route between Seoul Incheon (ICN) and Taipei Taoyuan (TPE). The route is already served by eight other carriers; EVA Air (18 weekly flights), Asiana Airlines (14), China Airlines (14), Korean Air (14), Cathay Pacific Airways (seven), Thai Airways (seven), Scoot (three) and UNI Air (three). Eastar Jet also serves the Seoul-Taipei market with thrice-weekly flights between Seoul Gimpo and Taipei Songshan airports. The second new route launched last week was on the 948-kilometre sector between Cheongju (CJJ) and Ningbo (NGB). This route will be operated thrice-weekly and faces no competition. Both new routes will be served by the airline’s 737-800s.
