“Daegu, here we go” as the sign says. Tigerair Taiwan has begun four times weekly flights to the South Korean destination competing directly with t’way air.
- Tigerair Taiwan has expanded its network with the addition of Daegu (TAE) in South Korea. Launched on 5 May, the LCC will operate four times weekly on the 1,395-kilometre route from Taipei Taoyuan (TPE) using its A320s. The airport pair is already served by t’way air with thrice-weekly flights. Last year Daegu Airport saw traffic growth of almost 32% to just over two million passengers. The LCC now serves 12 destinations non-stop from Taipei, half of which are in Japan, with a 13th (Sendai – also in Japan) set to start in late June. South Korea joins five other country markets already served; China (Dayong), Macau, Malaysia (Kota Kinabalu), Singapore and Thailand (Bangkok).
