WOW air commenced services to Stockholm Vasteras on 19 May. Flights from Reykjavik/Keflavik will be flown four times weekly. In celebration, a ribbon cutting ceremony was performed at the Icelandic airport, with Skúli Mogensen, WOW air CEO, and Hlynur Sigurdsson, Reykjavik/Keflavik Airport Terminal Director, carrying out proceedings. The airport also celebrated with a route launch cake, with passengers also being treated to smoothies from Joe & The Juice.
- WOW air commenced services between Reykjavik/Keflavik (KEF) and Stockholm Vasteras (VST) on 19 May. The 2,082-kilometre airport pair will be served by the LCC four times weekly using its A320s. Although no direct competition is offered between the two airports, Icelandair does offer flights between its Icelandic hub and Stockholm Arlanda 15 times weekly according to OAG Schedules Analyser data. This is currently WOW air’s only service to Sweden, with it now serving a total of 13 country markets in Europe.
