Tampa celebrated with this fantastic cake, created by The Cake Zone of Parish, to herald the start of the Silver Airways’ service to Nassau. Seen with the culinary delight are: John Tiliacos, VP of Operations, Tampa Airport; Kari Goetz, Director of Marketing, Tampa Airport; Sami Teittinen, CEO of Silver Airways; and Misty Pinson, Director of Communications, Silver Airways. Passengers were also entertained by a steel drum band, with them also getting a chance to enter a draw for a set of Silver Airways tickets.
Jacksonville celebrated with this tropical cake the start of Silver Airways’ twice-weekly (Thursdays and Sundays) service to Nassau. The route faces no incumbents.
- Silver Airways commenced service on four routes from Florida to Nassau (NAS) in the Bahamas between 26 and 27 May. Services from Jacksonville (JAX) and Palm Beach (PBI) will be operated twice-weekly, with flights from Southwest Florida (RSW) being flown thrice-weekly. Tampa (TPA) will see a daily operation. Although none of the routes currently face direct competition, services to Palm Beach will see the arrival of Bahamasair from late-June when it resumes seasonal services on the 319-kilometre sector. Nassau becomes the eighth airport which Silver Airways operates to in the Bahamas, with it already serving Marsh Harbour, North Eleuthera, Freeport, Bimini, Treasure Cay, George Town and Governors Harbour according to OAG Schedules Analyser data.
