Himalaya Airlines debuts Doha service

Himalaya Airlines’s A320 waits to depart from Kathmandu Airport on 31 May on its inaugural service to Doha in Qatar. Initially the service will operate thrice-weekly, increasing to daily from mid-June. Competition comes from Qatar Airways and Royal Nepal Airlines.

  • Himalaya Airlines, a Nepal-China joint venture carrier, has launched service on the 3,357-kilometre route between Kathmandu (KTM) and Doha (DOH). Initially the route will be flown thrice-weekly increasing to daily from 15 June. Competition on the route is provided by Qatar Airways (21 weekly flights) and Royal Nepal Airlines (four weekly flights). The airline has a single 158-seat A320 and started scheduled services to Colombo back in April.
