Ryanair starts seven new services in seven days

Ryanair launched three new routes to Reus this week. The trio of services from Liverpool, Glasgow Prestwick and Bristol were welcomed by: Marc Delgado, Route Development, Tarragona Province Tourist Board; Vicent Pallarés, Reus Airport Director; José Espartero, Sales & Marketing Manager Spain & Portugal, Ryanair; Desirée Fructuoso, Head of Airport Services and Commercial Section, Reus Airport; and Vicente Lis, Representative of Lesma Handling Agent at Reus Airport.

  • Ryanair has used the last week to commence seven new services from seven of its bases. The longest sector distance of the seven routes was the city pair from Weeze (NRN) to Rhodes (RHO), at 2,417 kilometres, while the shortest was the 499-kilometre link from Gdansk (GDN) to Stockholm Skavsta (NYO). The average sector length of the seven new services is 1,248 kilometres. Of the seven routes, the Spanish destination of Reus (REU) – now connected to Liverpool (LPL), Bristol (BRS) and Glasgow Prestwick (PIK) ‒ is served from just one of the airline’s other UK bases – namely London Stansted. In total Ryanair will operate nine routes from Reus this summer. As recently as 2011 the ULCC operated to as many as 28 destinations from the Spanish airport.
