XL Airways France lands in la la land

A cake featuring the icons of the Eiffel Tower and the Hollywood sign was produced to celebrate XL Airways France’s new Paris to Los Angeles route on 1 June, while US-style cheerleaders were also on hand in Paris to wave off passengers on the inaugural flight.

  • XL Airways France has commenced operations on the 9,098-kilometre route from Paris CDG (CDG) to Los Angeles (LAX). The route will be flown thrice-weekly and compete with Air France (17 weekly flights) and Air Tahiti Nui (six weekly flights). In addition Norwegian will start twice-weekly flights on the airport pair from 30 July. The leisure airline’s A330-200s will operate the seasonal route which ends on 28 September. Los Angeles becomes XL Airways France’s fourth US route from Paris CDG as it already connects non-stop to Miami, New York JFK and San Francisco.
