- Bulgaria Air commenced service on the European capital connection between Sofia (SOF) and Budapest (BUD) on 20 June. The 620-kilometre sector will be served four times weekly. Commenting at the launch, Balázs Bogáts, Head of Airline Development, Budapest Airport said: “The indirect passenger numbers from 2015 indicate high demand for Bulgaria Air’s service. It’s a great pleasure to welcome the airport’s new airline partner, and in giving our travellers optimum choice, we look forward to further development with the carrier.” The route will face no direct competition and will be flown on a mixture of the airline’s Airbus and Embraer short-haul fleet according to OAG Schedules Analyser data.
