- Czech Airlines commenced two routes from Prague (PRG) this week, starting on 18 June with weekly (Saturdays) service to Malta (MLA). The 1,584-kilometre link will see service increased to twice-weekly from 28 June, when a Tuesday flight will be added. The route will compete with Air Malta’s twice-weekly (Wednesdays and Saturdays) service according to OAG Schedules Analyser data. The second route launched by Czech Airlines this week was to Beirut (BEY) on 20 June. Flights on the 2,503-kilometre route from the Czech Republic capital will be flown twice-weekly (Mondays and Thursdays) facing no direct competition. Both services will be flown on the SkyTeam member’s A319 fleet.
