Seen helping to conduct the ribbon cutting ceremony at Alicante to herald the start of KLM’s new service from Amsterdam is the Spanish airport’s Director Santiago Martínez-Cava Arenas (left). Services on the 1,613-kilometre sector will be served daily on the SkyTeam member’s 737-700 fleet.
- KLM commenced service between Amsterdam (AMS) and Alicante (ALC) on 2 July. The SkyTeam member will fly the 1,613-kilometre route daily on its 737-700s. KLM becomes the third carrier to operate the route, with Transavia (17 times weekly) and Vueling (daily) already serving the airport pair. Alicante becomes the sixth destination in Spain for KLM, with the carrier already serving Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca and Valencia.
