Iberia boosts long-haul network with Shanghai Pudong

Stand still for the pictures and then it’s off to Shanghai Pudong to bring back lots of shoppers on Iberia’s new service from its Madrid hub. Standing in front of the special-livered A330-200 EC-MJA in the Spanish capital were: Luis Gallego, President Iberia; Elena Mayoral, Madrid Airport Director; Manuel Valencia, Spanish Ambassador to China; Lyu Fan, Chinese Ambassador to Spain; Carolina Marín, Badminton World Champion; Carlos Chagüaceda, General Director for Tourism Madrid Community; Roberto Sánchez, General Director for Innovation and Promotion, Madrid Community; and Javier Antonio Fernández Andrino, Tourism and International Marketing Director, El Corte Inglés.

  • Iberia is set to go head-to-head with China Eastern Airlines on its latest new route to Shanghai Pudong (PVG). The thrice-weekly A330-200-operated flights from Madrid (MAD) will see the oneworld carrier face the SkyTeam airline’s four times weekly service which launched on the same day – 28 June.
