NewLeaf adds a further 11 Canadian domestic routes

Seen celebrating the start of NewLeaf services to Saskatoon on 27 July are: Don Atchinson, Mayor of Saskatoon; Jim Young, CEO NewLeaf; and Stephen Mayburg, CEO Saskatoon Airport Authority. Saskatoon will be linked by NewLeaf to Hamilton and Kelowna. Saskatoon also provided cupcakes at the launch.
Toasting the start of services from Regina to Kelowna, with a glass of Okanagan Apple Essence Sparkling Fruit are Jim Young, NewLeaf CEO and Richmond Graham, President and CEO, Regina Airport Authority. Regina also celebrated the service with doughnuts and complimentary water for passengers. Both CEOs also received specially engraved glasses to toast the new route.

Seen celebrating the arrival of NewLeaf in Halifax are Ian Arthur, CCO of Halifax International Airport Authority and Dean Dacko, CCO of NewLeaf. The carrier will operate a twice-weekly service from Halifax, a route that is already served by WestJet. Halifax also offered the first flight passengers cupcakes in NewLeaf corporate colours.
- After inaugurating operations last week, NewLeaf continued its network ramp-up by adding a further 11 routes this week. With last week’s two routes from Hamilton and Kelowna to Winnipeg being the only ones to see a thrice-weekly frequency so far, the carrier’s latest route additions will all be flown twice-weekly, with services being operated by Flair Air’s 737-400s. Three of NewLeaf’s 11 routes launched this week will see direct completion from WestJet, with the new connection between Edmonton (YEG) and Abbotsford (YXX) seeing the strongest contest, with Canada’s largest LCC already running a 13 times weekly schedule on the sector. The average sector length of NewLeaf’s 11 new routes is 1,346 kilometres. Take a closer look at anna.aero’s review into newcomer NewLeaf.
