Malindo Air becomes fourth carrier on KL-Hanoi route

- Malindo Air has joined three other carriers in offering daily, non-stop service between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Hanoi (HAN). The 2,100-kilometre route is already served by AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines and Vietnam Airlines. Malindo Air’s service, using its 162-seat 737-800s, began on 1 September and becomes the LCC’s second route to Vietnam. It began serving Ho Chi Minh City from Kuala Lumpur on 29 January 2016. In total Malindo Air now serves almost 30 destinations this winter from Kuala Lumpur’s main airport. According to OAG Schedule Analyser data for September 2016 the carrier now accounts for 11% of flights at the airport, ranking it third behind AirAsia (37%) and Malaysia Airlines (28%).
