Myanmar National Airlines was one of two carriers to launch flights between Mandalay and Bangkok during the last week. The airline will operate thrice-weekly with 737-800s while local rival Myanmar Airways International will operate thrice-weekly with A319s. Incumbent Bangkok Airways is no doubt thrilled by the arrival of not one but two additional carriers on the route.
- Myanmar National Airlines on 31 August began its first international service from Mandalay (MDL) with the addition of thrice-weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) flights to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) using its 737-800s. The 1,024-kilometre is also served by Bangkok Airways (daily flights) and Myanmar Airways International (thrice-weekly flights). Myanmar National Airlines also serves Bangkok from Yangon. The airline’s three remaining international routes are from Yangon to Hong Kong, Singapore and Vientiane.
