Ethiopian Airlines celebrated with cake the start of flights to Moroni on 2 November. The 1,412-kilometre link will be operated by extending the morning rotation on three of the airline’s existing twice-daily Dar es Salaam rotations (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays).
- Ethiopian Airlines commenced flights to Comoros on 2 November, an island some 300 kilometres off the east coast of Africa, level with the Tanzania-Mozambique boarder. The airline will operate between Addis Ababa (ADD) and Moroni (HAH) thrice-weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays), with current schedules showing that the route will be an extension of its morning flight on its current Dar es Salaam route on the days stated, with the 737-800 being the aircraft of choice for the Star Alliance member. It should be noted that Ethiopian Airlines flies between Addis Ababa and Dar es Salaam twice-daily, and the airline does not have local traffic rights on the Dar es Salaam – Moroni sector. No other carrier currently links the Ethiopian capital to Moroni.
