Malindo Air starts second Chinese route from KL

- Malindo Air on 15 March became the fourth carrier (and third from Malaysia) to offer daily non-stop flights between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Guangzhou (CAN) in China. The LCC will operate the 2,610-kilometre route with its 162-seat 737-800s. Competition will be pretty intense as AirAsia and China Southern Airlines both already operate three times daily flights while Malaysia Airlines offers a single daily service. Malindo Air’s offering departs KL at 22:00, arriving in China at 02:10 the following morning. The return flight departs Guangzhou at 03:10, arriving back in Malaysia at 07:15. This is the carrier’s second service to China from the Malaysian capital as it has been operating twice-weekly flights to Guiyang since 13 December 2016. A third Chinese service to Haikou is scheduled to begin on 28 March.
