easyJet opens seasonal Palma de Mallorca base

For the start of S17, easyJet has opened a new seasonal base at Palma de Mallorca. The airline has stationed one A320 at the Balearic Islands airport. Seen welcoming the base opening are: Javier Gándara, GM for Spain, Portugal and Netherlands, easyJet; Iago Negueruela, Counsellor for Labor, Commerce and Industry; and José Antonio Álvarez, Palma de Mallorca Airport Director. Although no new routes have been opened with the stationed aircraft, the next route launch for the airline from Palma de Mallorca will take place on 26 June, when the LCC will begin a three times weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) link from Bordeaux, a route planned to run until 1 September. Last year the airline introduced links from Amsterdam and Nice to Palma de Mallorca.
