Alicante Airport welcomed the return of Luxair with the excellent water arch salute on 8 April. The carrier last served Alicante in November 2007. The airline has returned to the Spanish airport with a twice-weekly (Thursdays and Saturdays) service from Luxembourg. The 1,370-kilometre route will face no direct competition.
- Luxair has returned to Alicante (ALC) after a gap of nearly 10 years this week. Having last served the Spanish airport in November 2007, Luxair has begun a 1,370-kilometre service from Luxembourg (LUX). Launched 8 April, the carrier will offer a twice-weekly (Thursdays and Sundays) service between the two airports, with the flights operating on a mixture of the airline’s 737s. The route will face no direct competition. With this launch, Luxair now serves 11 airports in Spain from its Luxembourg hub on a total of 43 weekly flights.
