Volaris Costa Rica commenced flights to Managua in Nicaragua on 5 April, the airline’s third route from San Jose. The carrier will serve the 320-kilometre link daily on its A320s in direct competition with Avianca and Copa Airlines.
- Volaris Costa Rica began flights between San Jose (SJO) and Managua (MGA) in Nicaragua on 5 April, the airline’s third route from its Costa Rica base. Flown on the airline’s A320s, the 320-kilometre route will be served daily by the LCC, with it facing direct competition from Copa Airlines (twice-daily) and Avianca (daily). Along with Managua, the airline also serves San Salvador in El Salvador (launched 20 February) and Guatemala City in Guatemala (launched on 30 November 2016), both of which are also served from San Jose.
