Air Europa starts San Pedro Sula service

Air Europa began flights to San Pedro Sula in Honduras from its Madrid hub on 27 April. Taking care of the inaugural flight proceedings were: Norman García, Honduras Ambassador in Spain; Juan José Hidalgo, Air Europa President; and Elena Mayoral, Madrid Airport Director.

  • Air Europa added flights from its Madrid (MAD) hub to Honduras’ second largest city of San Pedro Sula (SAP). The 8,425-kilometre sector (the airline’s seventh longest), which started on 27 April, will be flown weekly (Thursdays) on the SkyTeam carrier’s A330-200 fleet. Representing its only flight to the Central American country, the city pair faces no direct competition. Air Europa will this summer be serving 44 destinations non-stop from Madrid, including 19 in the Americas and the Caribbean. The longest sector at 10,079 kilometres is to Buenos Aires in Argentina. Other countries served on its long-haul fleet include Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, USA and Venezuela.
