SpiceJet starts second service to Maldives

- SpiceJet now serves the Maldives non-stop from two airports in India. On 10 May the carrier began daily flights on the 605-kilometre sector from Thiruvananthapuram (TRV) to Malé (MLE). Q400s will be flown on the route, which is also operated by Air India (daily) and Maldivian (six times weekly). SpiceJet’s first route to Malé was launched on 29 November 2012 from Kochi. The Indian carrier now operates 19 international routes of which five are flown with its Q400s. Apart from Malé, the airline’s other international destinations are Bangkok, Colombo, Dhaka, Dubai, Kabul and Muscat.
