Avianca becomes only carrier to connect Colombia and Uruguay

Avianca’s Bogota to Montevideo

Avianca Montevideo

In charge of cutting the ribbon in Montevideo to officially open Avianca’s new route from Bogota was the Colombian Ambassador to Uruguay, Natalia Abello Vives. Avianca will operate daily flights on the 4,785-kilometre city pairing.

  • Avianca on 15 May began daily flights between Bogota (BOG) and Montevideo (MVD). With this latest launch, Avianca become the only carrier to offer non-stop service between the countries of Colombia and Uruguay according to OAG schedules. In fact, no carrier has connected these two countries with non-stop flights for at least a decade. The 4,785-kilometre route will be flown by Avianca daily on its fleet of A319s. For Avianca, this becomes its second link to Montevideo, with it already linking the city with Lima with daily flights flown under its subsidiary Avianca Peru.
