flydubai is again allowing secondary European markets to be connected to Dubai, with the start of three times weekly services to Batumi in Georgia. The TAV-operated airport had clearly been busy at the bakers before the arrival of the inaugural flight on 22 June. The launch of flights to Batumi and Tivat means flydubai now serves 18 destinations in the region.
- flydubai has started two new routes to the south-eastern edge of Europe this week, with services beginning to Batumi (BUS) and Tivat (TIV) from its Dubai (DXB) hub. Launched on 22 June, the three times weekly operation to the Georgian airport becomes the LCC’s 17th destination in the region. Started the next day was the twice-weekly (Mondays and Fridays) sector, and also the airline’s 18th to Central and Eastern Europe, to the coastal town in south-west Montenegro. Both services are summer seasonal until the end of September, face no direct competition and are flown by flydubai’s 737-800 fleet.
