Air Astana starts second route to India

Air Astana’s second route to Delhi becomes the 130th for the Indian airport. Flights from the Kazakhstan capital of Astana will initially operate twice-weekly on the airline’s fleet of A320s.
- Air Astana on 3 July commenced a twice-weekly (Mondays and Thursdays) service from Astana (TSE) to Delhi (DEL) using its A320s. The 2,540-kilometre route is not served by any other carrier. Air Astana already serves Delhi from Almaty (since 2004) with daily flights. This brings to 21 the number of international destinations served by the Kazakhstan carrier from the country’s capital, of which five are in Russia. This new service will make it easier for Indians to visit EXPO 2017 which is currently taking place in Astana with the theme of “Future Energy”. For Delhi, Astana becomes the airport’s 130th destination.
