Seen giving their thumbs-up approval, while also posing with cake, to Ernest’s new link between Milan Bergamo and Lviv are: Andriy Moskalenko, Deputy Mayor for Development, Lviv City Council; Tetyana Romanovska, Director, Lviv Airport; Chady El Tannir, Business Development Director, Ernest; and Ilza Xhelo, Commercial Director, Ernest.
- Ernest commenced flights between Milan Bergamo (BGY) and Lviv (LWO) on 20 October, meaning that Ukraine has now become the airline’s third country market after Italy and Albania. The 1,162-kilometre link between the Italian and Ukrainian city will be flown by the carrier twice-weekly (Fridays and Sundays) on its sole A320. The carrier also has an A319 in its fleet, while a further two A320s are expected to join the other two aircraft soon. No other airline competes directly on this new airport pair, and no carriers link Lviv to either Milan Malpensa or Linate airports when analysing OAG schedules. Ernest will continue to expand its operations to Ukraine, with a second route from Bergamo to Kiev Zhuliany starting 9 December, with the Ukrainian capital also expected to gain connections to Naples and Venice Marco Polo. Lviv will also see direct flights to the latter two destinations when referring to Ernest’s booking engine. See how Lviv Airport’s FTWA compares to others from around the world.
